How does the balanced teams algorithm work?

When you enable "Balanced Teams" and assign skill levels (1-5), the generator sorts players by skill. It then uses a "snake draft" algorithm, distributing the highest-skilled players evenly across all teams, followed by the next tier, ensuring no team has an unfair advantage.

Can I separate names with commas instead of new lines?

Yes. The generator automatically detects both line breaks and commas. You can paste a comma-separated list or a vertical list of names, and the tool will parse them correctly.

What happens if the teams cannot be divided evenly?

If the total number of players cannot be divided perfectly by the number of teams, the generator will automatically assign the extra players to random teams. For example, 10 players into 3 teams will result in two teams of 3 and one team of 4. If you need to draw unique raffle tickets, use our random number generator no repeats.

Can I generate teams based on a specific number of players per team?

Yes. In the settings, you can switch between "Number of Teams" and "Players Per Team". If you choose 4 players per team, the generator will create as many teams as needed to accommodate the 4-player rule. For a simple single draw, you might prefer our random number picker 1-100.
